Don’t Mess Up

The work was created in response to my own personal journey on choosing to be an artist. In childhood, play is always encouraged but as you get older there is a line between what is allowed to be play and when there is a time "be serious". This pressure of adulthood and the things that you should take to " be serious", encourages a culture of people to no longer take risks out of the fear of messing up. That you would rather be mediocre than make a mistake. What happens to us when we foster an environment where being right or doing the "right thing" is more important than what feels right to us? Are we encouraged to pursue our own individuality with no judgement?
